WhatsApp Business for Driving Schools: Setup and Ready-to-Use Replies

For many learners in Delhi, WhatsApp is the first way they contact a driving school. The free WhatsApp Business app helps you look professional, answer common questions in two taps with saved replies, and keep track of every inquiry with labels. You can set it up in about 15 minutes.

Why use WhatsApp Business instead of regular WhatsApp

  • Business profile with your address, hours, description, email and website.
  • Catalog to list each course with its duration and fee.
  • Quick replies — saved messages you send by typing “/” and a shortcut.
  • Labels to sort chats: new inquiry, first class booked, joined and so on.
  • Greeting and away messages that reply automatically.
  • Short link and QR code that open a chat with you directly.

Use one business number everywhere — on your board, Google profile, visiting cards and website — so learners always reach the same place. Details of each feature are on WhatsApp Business.

Set it up in 15 minutes

  1. Install WhatsApp Business from the Play Store or App Store and register your business number. If you are moving an existing number, back up your chats first.
  2. Profile: business name exactly as on your board; choose the closest category; add your address, hours, a one-line description, email and website.
  3. Catalog: add each course as an item — name, price, duration and what’s included.
  4. Greeting message: turn it on for new chats (templates below).
  5. Away message: schedule it for outside your hours (templates below).
  6. Quick replies: save the replies in the next section.
  7. Labels: create the labels listed further down.
  8. Short link and QR code: find them in the business tools, then print the QR code on your visiting card and board.

Labels to track every learner

  1. New inquiry — asked a question.
  2. First class booked — date and time fixed.
  3. Joined — paid and started.
  4. Fees pending — balance due.
  5. Test booked — driving test date fixed.
  6. Passed — time to send the review request.

Once a week, filter by “New inquiry” and follow up with anyone you haven’t heard back from.

Good WhatsApp manners

  • Reply as soon as you can — between classes, never while driving.
  • Don’t add people to groups without asking.
  • Use broadcast lists sparingly, for useful updates like new batch timings. Broadcasts only reach people who have saved your number.
  • Keep students’ documents and personal details private.

When to go beyond the app

The app works well for one or two people. If you want automatic class reminders, fee reminders or a shared inbox for several staff, you need the WhatsApp Business Platform (API) through a provider. Meta charges per message for certain message types, and message templates need approval. It becomes worthwhile as your volume grows — and it pairs well with missed-call auto-replies.
